SHOPPING: Get them things to cuddle with

When shopping for a gift it's not always easy. But there is a tactic you can use that has worked for so many centuries.

Go on the edge.

Get something that nobody expects. Like this beanbag chair made by Sumo.

(here)You can check out all of their beanbag chairs, they are all really cool. That model is actually in all of the pictures, and they are all diverse which you can appreciate.

Anywayyy, there's that and here's another idea for your holiday.
I'm not too sure how cuddly this guy may be, but he is hella cool.

Ask anyone with gaming knowledge and they will at least tell you that that's a Halo model. A Halo fan would tell you that was a Spartan Hayabusa holding a battle rifle (BR) and is from Halo 3's multiplayer. It is damn cool and made by Todd McFarlane's Spawn company.

So maybe I'm a little biased towards the gamers, but these would both make great gifts and both can be aimed at different people. Go check out the websites and see all the cool merchandise they have to offer.

Shopping is getting to be a little a more interesting!

TECHNOLOGY: The Storm is Coming

Tomorrow marks the opening day for the newest smartphone on the market, the Blackberry Storm.

You've seen the commercials with the hand picking up the phone and clicking a few times to send a text, and then the Verizon guy with his team are all standing in front of the guy, the camera zooms out and you see the whole city is filled with the network of Verizon workers.

So what is it that makes this such a great phone?

Well for starters it has the highest security features, which is a very big deal for people that are constantly using their phones to view and edit documents and other intellectual property. This is very appealing for business peoples because Blackberry is known for providing the most advanced security features, and now it is mixed together with the latest technological advances.

The Storm features the worlds very first "clickable" screen. What this means is that the touch screen acts just like a normals keyboard, reacting to single and double clicks, and even gestures. If you flip the phone on its side it becomes a keyboard. If you are viewing a document or a picture it too will turn allowing the convience of being comfortable with all viewing.

So far so good. You have the internet running on the 3G with a full HTML browser, Global connectivity in over 200 countries, a noise canceling earpiece, visual voice mail, Bluetooth capabilities, a 3.2 megapixle camera, expandable SD memory, streaming multimedia and so much more.

This phone kicks ass. This phone will kick the Iphones ass as well. Because the Storm appeals not only to the younger generation with all of it's latest technologies, but is also appeals to the business community with all of it's business capabilities.

It comes out tommorow, the 21 in Verizon stores everywhere. To learn more about the Storm check out here.

MUSIC: Country Music Awards

Last night aired the CMAs, and the winners of the awards were quite interesting this year, not. Annual awards are given in the following twelve categories: Entertainer, Male Vocalist, Female Vocalist, New Artist (previously known as the Horizon Award until 2008), Vocal Group, Vocal Duo, Single, Album, Song, Music Event, Music Video, and Musician. These are all chosen by the business members of country music.

This year the Entertainer of the year was Kenny Chesney, male vocalist of the year Brad Paisley, and female vocalist of the year Carrie Underwood. All the same as last year. The live music was wild though as Sugarland, Underwood, Keith Urban, Kid Rock, Miranda Lambert, and most of the winners rocked the stage.

Congratulations to all the winners!

TECHNOLOGY: Times Squares New Years

Every year millions of people spend their New Years out in the streets on Manhattan to celebrate. There are tons of special concerts, bar specials, and of course the special ball dropping in Times Square.

It is quite a site. Not only do these millions of people squish into Times Square, but even more people are watching this event from home. So this year New York gets a new gift, a brand new ball to drop!

Here check out this video. It's the revealing of last year's ball.

The new ball is the biggest and best New Year's ball that has ever been designed. It is twice the diameter of the last one, it's over 12 feet wide, and weighs 11,875 pounds. That's huge! And that's not even the best part!

Lights! The ball has exactly 32,256 LED bulbs. That's compared to the 9,000 some on last years. That difference in number alone should send you chills. I'm telling you, this ball of light will be visible for miles and will help light up Times Square more than it already is. They have over 4.3 billion color combinations to play with. This is in any lighting techs dreams.

Although it is bigger, it is 20% more energy efficient than the one in that last video, making it the brightest and greenest ball of all time. After New Years is over, the ball will stay in Time Square and help illuminate the New York atmosphere.

The ball of light was developed by Lighting Science Group Corporation, and we thank you!

CARS: Going green

If you haven't heard yet, Cadillac is releasing it's first hybrid vehicle, and in the biggest car they have.

That's right, you can now go green with the Escalade! This behemoth of a SUV gets an average of 20mpg. This version of the Escalade is not really too much different from the other ones, other than the price. This hybrid will run you for $71 grand at its starting price.

The talk about this car is two sided. One says that it's great that we can finally have a hybrid SUV that combines luxury as well as hit 60 mph in under ten seconds. The other side is much less sympathetic, and often snide. One user of Autoweek.com said, "This is the automotive equivalent of ordering a double bacon cheeseburger with chili-cheese fries and a diet coke".

Either way you look at it, Cadillac is taking steps to become greener, and this is a first step. Cadillac does say that more hybrids are on the way. This is crucial for the survival of any automotive company. That is the way the world is moving, even with the way we electrify our homes.

So kudos to you Caddy! And thank you for bringing us a hybrid of your own!

ELECTRONICS: Interactive Mirror

A friend sent me a link to a video that really was awesome (thanks ant!). Here, check it out.

I think it's an awesome idea. It's inventions like this that are really pulling us into the future, taking ideas and forming them into new ones. That is really the creativity that we need more of. Anyhow, by watching through the video you will see at the end a projector. That is where the images are coming through. It was put together by a guy named Alpay Kasal of Lit Studios and Sam Ewen of Interference Inc.

This would not be the first projection work he's done either. He also has put up showcases on the sides on buildings! He is a very talented artist and is full of innovation.

You can check out his site at blog.litstudio.com

And get one of these for your mirror! :P

COMPUTERS: The newest addition to Mac

Lines outside the doors of the Apple Store usually occur this time of year. Everyone wants the newest ipods and macbooks. It's not really a phenomenon. These are awesome tools of science and entertainment.

Well here's why you too should want the newest macbook.

This here is the new 13' macbook (not pro) in all of it's glory. It was made starting from a solid plate of aluminum, and built up using methods that put space crafts together. This makes it thinner and lighter than ever before. The background is made up completely of LEDs, and the face plate....is glass. The keypad illuminates, and that's a standard. Even the mouse is different, becoming one button giving 39% more moving space for your fingers. The colors are more vibrant and the display is beautiful.....it is the sexiest slickest macbook yet.

Check it out at apple.com

It just makes me shudder ;]

MUSIC: Shiny Toy Guns

Just like their name suggests, this group is very intriguing. These guys have been around since 2002 and have continuously have been releasing the same album "We are Pilots" in three versions.

But now they have graced us with a bit of refreshing music with their album "Season of Poison". This disc was released yesterday, and it is very....very.....captivating. The music is compiled beautifully and artistically. I did not know what to expect when first listening to the album, but it really impressed me. The lyrics are meaningful, and the way the music is played really gets you into the songs. It's moving and powerful, the singing styles will blow you away.

Check out this song, it's called "When did This Storm Begin" and it is what will pleasure your sound-buds when you pop this disc in.

Check out Shiny Toy Guns.

And Happy Obama Day.

SHOPPING: Do it for a cause!

Now that Halloween is done until next year, we immediately move onto Christmas! You'll see all the stores switching over decor from orange and black to red and white with elves and Santa all over. It is time for "holiday" shopping.

This means deals in stores, no shipping online, and some of the biggest rushes to get that special gift off the shelf before other people do. Some stores, like Target, are using this as an opportunity to give back to people, and you can help just by shopping.

Target is partners with the Salvation Army and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. This holiday season they will be selling an exclusive line called the "Twice Nice" collection. If you buy something from this collection part of the money spent will go directly to one of these organizations. It will help change the quality of life for children across the world as well as people who are less fortunate than we are.

Check out how cute this elephant is!

Happy Shopping and Happy Holidays!
